Vicky Christina Barcelona

Hola de Barcelona! We arrived here via night train from Paris, and so far, out of the places we´ve been, this is the place where I´d chose to live. Its been nice speaking Spanish instead of French; I´m much better at Spanish. I can even tell a difference in the accent here. Ok...pictures. First up are the last ones from Paris. We spent our afternoon at Montmarte and Sacre Coeur, where we climbed about 300 steps to get to the top of the dome. What a view! After Montmarte, we took our first night train...teeny cabin, but it was private, so we were able to sleep on the coucettes. When we got to Barcelona, we visited La Sagrada Familia first. It was pretty cool from the outside, but its not finished yet, so the inside was all construction! The church was designed by Gaudi, so it was pretty eccentric looking. As was the Parc Guil, also designed by Gaudi. Our second day in Barcelona, we took a little vacation from our vacation and slept in, did laundry, and shopped at my favorite store on the planet, H&M. Today was much busier...first we went up to Tibidabo via a rickety tram, then we walked from the Arc de Triomf to the Parc de la Cituadella, to the statue of Chrisopher Colombus, and up La Ramba.

Sacre Coeur on top of Montmarte in Paris.

Joshy stretching over the balcony at Sacre Coeur. The Eiffel Tower is poking up over the horizon in th background.

Our couchettes in the train. We´ll be sleeping on the train like this again tonight.

The crazy La Sagrada Famillia.

Everybody was spending their Sunday afternoon at Park Guil.

A building at Park Guil.

The view from atop Tibidabo.

The super cool Mercado. They had everything!

Spain´s Arc de Triompf. We´re not sure who had theirs first, Barcelona or Paris...

That´s the statue of "Colon" in the background.

We´re about to get on another night train, and tomorrow its Florence! I plan on blogging again after Florence, Rome, and Venice. Adios!

I like your new purple dress and leggings--maybe you've shopped at H & M?! The skies are so blue and pretty. Glad the weather is cooperating with you. Everyone at school is touring right along with you!
