Mia, 5 & 1/2

This session was supposed to be Mia's 5 year portraits. We planned them for April, which is around the time of Mia's birthday, but then it rained, so we rescheduled. Then it rained some more, so we picked yet another date. And then it flooded. Not only was our shoot canceled again due to rain, but Mia's house was in danger because of the flood waters. She and her mom and dad had to leave their home for a few days, not knowing if there would be one left for them to come back to. To make matters worse, a few days after the flood as they were still waiting for the waters to recede, the front page of the Tennessean was an aerial photo of their neighborhood, completely flooded. It was a hard couple of days, but when the water finally left, they drove up to their home and saw that water had come as far as their door mat, but never went inside. Their home was spared! So we rescheduled pictures. And then Mia faceplanted, and was left with a huge scrape on her cheek. Finally...nearly 6 months later, with no rain in the forecast and Mia's face nice and healed, we did Mia's 5 and a half year session.
