It’s no secret that Valentine’s Day it my favorite holiday. I adore all those shades of pink, red, and purple. Flowers makes me happy. Chocolates work too. Last year, I got the opportunity to work with the always stellar team at CJ’s Off the Square in Franklin. As you can see, the inspiration for this styled shoot revolved around a modern, elegant wedding in shades of plum. Once I saw the finished photos, I couldn’t help but think of Valentine’s Day. I adore all the “little touches” in this shoot from the feathers peeking out of The Enchanted Florist created centerpieces to the brown-sugar rimmed toasting glasses. Per my request, The Bake Shoppe created a stunning cake with a peppermint center … my very favorite flavor. They even let me take home the leftovers. And notice those delicate pink cookies on the dessert table? Yeah, my grandmother made those especially for the shoot. I also loved this dress provided by The Bride Room. It possessed so much movement and flow … it almost had its own personality. The groom’s slim-fit tux by Street Tuxedo complimented it perfectly. I shot the styled shoot with my EOS3 and Porta 160 film. A special thank you to 100 Layer Cake for featuring this shoot on their blog, which you can see here.
