Mufreesboro Family Photographer - What to Wear for Fall Family Portrait Session

Leaves are falling here and there and and even though there's not the slightest hint of cooler temperatures in the air, now is the time to think about sweaters, scarves, boots, pumpkin patches, and all the thing that lead to a knocked-it-out-of-the-park fall photo session. My friend and colleague, Leanne Vice of Leanne Vice Photography, and her family nailed it in a recent shoot at my family farm – one of my fave locations.

As a fellow photographer, Leanne didn’t need any styling advice. She knows the dos and don’ts. Like do, experiment with patterns, textures, and colors in an effort not to appear too matchy. And don’t go for trends. Stick to classic looks. Since the ultimate goal of a photo shoot is to display those images in your home, it’s also important to a pick color scheme that will blend with your home d├ęcor. Neutral like greys and browns are always a great idea. Leanne did a great job of throwing in a pop of yellow. It gives these image energy.

And don’t forget that during August and September, you can often snag some great deals at Back to School and Labor Day sales! Still not sure how to dress your family for those fall portraits? Email me. I’m happy to consult with you prior to your session.
